Belonging to sedimentary rock, limestone is mainly found in calcite. The compact limestone with stratified structure has compression strength of 20-120 M Pa and density of 2000-2600 kg/m3. When clay impurity is above 3%-4%, limestone falls dramatically in frost and water resistance. Cherty limestone is high in durability and hardness. Limestone is widely distributed, which makes easy to excavate and process. In construction projects, it is used in foundation, outer wall, steps, pavement as well as concrete aggregate.
